Adding Google Adsense ads to your Blog

Ever since I managed to receive the first 5 cents in my Adsense account for a visitor’s click on a Google ad on one of my websites, I can not imagine creating a web page without placing Google Adsense on it.

I have found many uses for Adsense, before all, it is a quick and easy to follow tool to monitor your website and sort of summarize your work in creating a page or writing an article.

A Google Adsense account when used correctly with channels, can give you a summary of how many people have visited your website or at least how many pages of your website have been visited.

This is not exact and does not really take the place of Analitics but I found my self checking my Google Adsense account many times a day while I only check analytics once per day. So that is a good place to have a little summary of your traffic also.

And the good part is that right besides it you can see what you have achieved by bringing the traffic to your site.

Adsense also gives some meaning to the work you do on your website and tells you what it worth is. Well it is true that your work may mean a lot to you but, I guess you know what I mean.

So anyway I went ahead and started including Adsens on my new blog. It was easy just chose to add a Gadget under Layouts, page elements and since I already had a Google account entered two lines of information and that was it. Next time I opened my blog the ads were there
But that was not it. When I logged in to my Adsense account next time, I noticed a pinkish box at the top right telling me that some program is trying to have access to my account and I was invited to click on a link to allow or disallow that.

I followed the link and yes it was there. The Blogger was sitting there on that page asking for permission to access my account. “Ok why not,”. I clicked it ok. “I would always have a chance to change my mind after all.”

And there I was having Google Adsense running on my new blog already.

Getting started blogging online

I have been thinking about starting my own blog for quite sometime now but I have not acted on that until now.

I have been a webmaster for sometime operating my own websites such as one site selling and showcasing tropical fish pictures. This in line with what I would like to call ‘Creative Marketing Online.’

So I finally got started.

I couldn’t be sure which blog system to choose but since I already had a Google account with Adsense and webmaster tools and all types of tools that Google provided, it was natural to go with Google and start a blog on Google blogger.

Getting started was easy, although my SEO sense was telling me I should spend sometime researching a name but I think it was more important for me to just get started.

It was quick. A name for the site and that was it. Although I was not happy with the standard templates provided but I guess I can work on that later on or at least I think I can.

For the name I didn’t want to use a hyphen in the middle at first but I was notified that it has been taken, but I’m happy with what I got now.

I guess to start with I’ll be blogging for a while about my experience setting up and learning this system.

That is a good place to start.
